OUR STORY!

Winwood College was established in 2014 however, it first opened its doors to 15 students and 8 teachers in January 2015. Today it has an enrolment of over 400 students and 28 highly qualified teaching staff.

The school was built on what once was a Football stadium by the late Mr One-day Muponda. He was a dedicated Visionary who maintained cues of Excellence in everything he pursued hence we see a magnificent serene environment with world-class facilities that allow all of its students to receive the best opportunities for growth and development in all areas of school life. Today Winwood College legacy is being managed with passion by his daughter Mrs A. Nyeruke – Muponda and a board of directors.

Our school is an approved centre for Cambridge IGCSE, AS and Advanced Level partnering with the British Council and students are also given exposure of interacting with cultures internationally through various educational trips and cultural exchange programs to Dubai, France, South Africa to mention just a few.

Today, Winwood College enjoys the status of high pass rates, well cultured students, low- teacher to pupil ratio and strives to maintain and even surpass these high standards. Transport is available from Harare CBD and in and around Ruwa from a timeously serviced fleet. These and many more are few reasons why one should choose Winwood College for an “Excellent Educational Experience.”

Winwood College aspires to be the excellent co-educational high school of choice through overall commitment to our ethos.
The College sits on 100 hectares of land with classrooms and other infrastructure occupying 75% of the total area. The main attraction to Winwood College is its Curriculum and State of the Art facilities beautifully located on a huge piece of land with green fields in the centre. Students learn in a magnificent child-friendly environment with lots of classroom space.
All books are brand new and the latest editions are available in all subjects in the Library. Additional internet research is conducted in the Computer Lab, which has a range of brand new computers. ICDL (International Computer Drivers Licence) is part of the curriculum, and all students are required to do this computer subject. For students with a flare in Science, Winwood College has well equipped Science Laboratory where practicals are carried out in a safe and innovative environment.

Our Leadership

Winwood College is the brainchild of the Late Mr Oneday Muponda a seasonal businessmen whose humble beginning date back to Odzi. The founder Late Mr O. Muponda was the Chief Executive who founded Winwood College. He was also the CEO of First Sellers Group of companies…
